I am Leigh Scott’s partner (and accomplice). I am a writer, novice visual artist, therapeutic horticulture practitioner, and activist, and I work for an aid clinic. While I do not have lived experience with incarceration, I love many people who do. As a mixed Venezuelan American with lived experience of poverty and housing instability, I have a deep understanding of how poverty and race are criminalized and how carceral systems actively perpetuate poverty and harm across our communities.
